The Local Area
Fell View Park is two miles north of Scorton Village, which is a very popular destination for visitors to the area. Our nearest town is the small market town of Garstang, where the Thursday morning market draws people from all around, and is well worth a visit any day.About seven miles away is the historic city of Lancaster with its castle and other attractions such as Williamson’s Memorial and the Maritime Museum making it a very interesting day out. The well known seaside resorts of Blackpool and Morecambe are just a short drive away.
The Site is in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which covers 312sq. miles of mainly the Lancashire Hills with some lowland areas and river valleys such as the River Wyre, Lune and Ribble. There are many pretty villages to explore, with tearooms and visitor attractions. The walking in this area will not disappoint even the most experienced walker with its thousands of acres of open moor land, most of which is right to roam land, whilst there are plenty of easier walks for all levels.
